DVD: Infernal Affairs
This 2002 Hong Kong movie was the basis for Scorsese’s The Departed. Having watched this film, there’s not much in the latter film that is original – it’s just had the Hollywood treatment, which is to say, an increase in violence, more sex and adult themes, and a slightly more complex plot. The original is better grounded, with more of a sense of morality about it – an enjoyable film.
