Beanz Arabica, Rhodes

Toby’s estate coffee. Shop 105, 2 Walker St, Rhodes. A cheerful space with only a few tables indoors, and seating for a dozen more outside. Cheerful staff – and lots of them – work away taking orders, cooking, and making coffees.

The coffee is quite ok: there’s no decaf grinder, so it’s a little stale, bit a pleasant space to pass the time – try the bacon and egg roll on damper: the best of its kind in Rhodes.

Update (20 May 2009): They’ve switched to Jack and the Bean coffee, and the results are great: the coffee is really good now. Also, try the croissants – they make them on site.

  1. The details givin about th shop isn’t at all true, the coffee is the best i have had, anywhere. The staff are beyond shop personnel, they are more like friends, the male barista that is always there from open to close. They go out of their way to please whatever you want.

And yes, you have to have their bacon and egg in the cold mornings.
    FIVE STARS

  2. the review by dave is not shared by me and my co-workers…ive been building in sydney for 25 years and drink at least 8 coffees aday..the coffee at beanz is the best ive ever had in sydney…the staff are friendly and the bacon and eggs are the greatest..all the building sites at mirvac and various other companies will support this opinion.

  3. I guess you guys have been drinking the normal caff then. Drinking decaf from pre-ground or the ‘sub-par’ solution isn’t enjoyable, and preground is inherently slightly stale.

  4. The staff and service are second to none. They do everything in their power to make your visit as pleasant as possible. Very friendly staff and fantastic food. *****

  5. All I can say is that Geoff (the barista) makes THE BEST coffee in ALL of Sydney, and that this place is seriously one of the reasons I love living in Rhodes.

I don’t know what I’d do if a Saturday didn’t start with one of Beanz’s large flat whites, and the best sausage and egg rolls on sourdough you can get….
