Arriving near the close of weekend service is no way to sample the friendliness of staff, but I’ve been made to feel more welcome over the years. They didn’t bring me a glass of water, even though I asked for one; perhaps put this down to the end of shift?
This cafe has a mix of in-store and in-arcade seating, giving the option of watching the world go by, or concentrating a little more or the reading you have brought with you.
They have a decaf grinder. Coffee is good at first sip, then worrying – is there a lurking aftertaste that is going to make me regret my whole visit? Thankfully, this fear is short-lived, and the coffee finishes well.
There seem to be a few pastries of note in the menu, but that’s for another trip.
Open 7 days until 5pm. Weekdays opens at 7:30, Saturdays at 8, Sundays at 9am.
