Somewhere around 4am local time, Steve Jobs announced a number of different Apple products:
- Mac mini; a ‘headless’ mac G4 a little larger than a stack of CDs, and weighing a little over a kilo (about $AUD799 – BYO screen, keyboard, and mouse).
- ipodshuffle: a screenless ipod with in 512MB and 1GB sizes that use flash memory instead of a hard-drive (starting at $AUD 149)
- ilife 05 – kel bought me ilife 04 for Christmas! and the new iwork (each $AUD149 or pre-ordered for $119): a combo of keynote (the mac version of powerpoint) and pages (a new word processing / layout program)
Still no signs of a G5 powerbook, though, nor of the new operating system (Tiger) – perhaps that will be in six months’ time.
