Saw Traffic on Saturday night; it was a good movie, but I think I was expecting something a little different. Michael Douglas is excellent as the judge turned anti-drugs czar, but I was expecting a Falling Down style character, and this led me to disappointment with the film overall.
Catherine Zeta-Jones is surprisingly good – this is the first movie I’ve seen that was more about her acting ability than about having a pretty girl on screen.
There was some great cinematography; different types of film used, a variety of different angles, and the violence was very understated. The drug use – as you’d expect in a film about drug traffic – is very graphic however, so younger kids should probably avoid it.
