Movie: Colour Me Kubrick

Movie: Colour Me Kubrick
Ben and I took in this film at the Palace Verona. Malkovitch is the main player here, as a con-man unhappy with his own life who pretends to be (film director) Stanley Kubrick, despite not really knowing much about the work of the man, nor looking anything like him. The real-life Alan Conway, on whom the film was based, spent much of the 1990s convincing people that he was Kubrick. It sounds like an unlikely premise for a film, but somehow this is works as a sort of comedy: it’s amazing to watch these cons work. Watch out for a great little appearance by Richard E Grant.
