DVD: The Office (US Version). More like the traditional US sitcom, this nonetheless has its funny moments. I prefer the original.

DVD The Office (BBC) Season One This British television show is filmed documentary-style, and shows the interaction between a number of hard-to-work-with characters in a work environment that’s at times too close to the truth.

DVD: Boston Legal Season One A TV series that tells the story of an aging lawyer, Denny Crane (William Shatner), who was once a great trial attorney, but is now on the decline, his co-workers, and the surreal world they live in. Somehow walks the line of being funny, and engaging in social commentary.

DVD: The Station Agent Slow moving story of three unlikely friends as they eke out a relationship despite their social dysfunction and tough life situations. Enjoyable to watch a story that’s more character driven than anything else, and watch engaging characters as they’re drawn out of their shells.

DVD: Paycheck Textbook John Woo action flick; all the trademarks: the dove, the Mexican standoffs. Lots of action, one-dimensional acting: $8 well spent to own the DVD.

DVD: Thumbsucker Highly unusual rite-of-passage film telling the story of a 17 year old boy’s attempt to give up sucking his thumb. Classic independent film: for fans of Keanu Reeves, this is worth a look, but in general, nothing stand-out here.

DVD: Lord of War If you’re a Nicolas Cage fan, or interested in considering some of the issues involved in international arms trafficking, this is worth a look.

DVD: Three Dollars David Wenham gives an above average performance in this story about a man’s quest to keep his integrity. Has an unusual sense of realism to it, while not being too over the top.

DVD: The Interpreter A fairly average thriller, notable as the first movie filmed in the United Nations building. Lots of DVD extras.

DVD: Primer. A science geek movie: starts out easily enough, but soon becomes complex due to the nature of the invention the two main characters create.
