Movie: Chicken Little. Amusing fluff: lots of movie references, and presents the goal of "closure" with their parents as something for the kiddies to aspire to. A bit too scary in places for very young kids (with its war of the worlds and Aliens references), but great fun nonetheless.

Movie: King Kong I had been told that this wasn’t a particularly great movie, but I thought it was excellent: a great combination of action and drama, and a genuinely likable CG character in Kong.

Movie: Good Night, and Good Luck Like a trip to the 1950’s. A good, by-the-numbers movie that raises some political issues that were relevant then, and are relevant again in the current political climate.

Movie: Broken FlowersSlow moving, this film felt like it was missing both a sense of heart, and a sense of resolution.

Movie: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe A good adaptation of the novel; much is brought to life: perhaps not the best casting for the voice of Aslan.

Movie: Domino. Not wanting to watch all of King Kong at a 9:30pm session on a school-night (this would have seen us leave the cinema around 12:45am, by my reckoning), this was the only remaining choice of movie. Movie: Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride Visually excellent, this kids movie (it’s a musical, of sorts) has some quite scary moments for small children, but tells a compelling story. Movie: Serenity A good sci-fi movie, and a fun movie to watch. I think I walked into this one with expectations that were too high; there were a number of really good moments, some laugh-out-loud one-liners, a great villain, but I think I was expecting something unimaginably great, and so I was a little disappointed.
