Sorry in advance for the incredibly geeky post. You’d think that by now I would know everything that can go wrong with Microsoft’s IIS (internet information server). A new problem had me stumped yesterday: start up the SMTP service, and the processor usage jumps to 70-80% for inetinfo.exe: turns out the fix is to allow “Everyone” modify rights to the Mailroot folder.
