Movie: Michael Clayton

Michael Clayton

A George Clooney vehicle in the vein of many Grisham films: it’s about the law, and yet, the law is really a backdrop to what is going on. Requires a certain level of concentration – some of the most important information about the title character is only mentioned in dialogue, and that early in the film. Clooney is highly watchable yet again: it’s a fairly subtle performance in the scheme of Hollywood films. Perhaps its one failing is the number of characters who are either completely good, or completely evil: while we appreciate the journey that a couple of characters go on, the rest are a little too simple to fit in.
