Glinelli coffee. Parramatta Westfield, near the cinemas. Formerly known as Oscars, where I had – a year or two back – a bad experience with the customer service, this place has been renamed, and slightly rebranded with a theme of autumn leaves and birds in silhouette throughout.
Conveniently located near both the kids play area and the cinemas, foot traffic would be the main driving force here: the service, while not incredibly fast, is nonetheless solid. Gather the attention of the staff, and you’ll have your order very quickly indeed.
I’m a little surprised to see that the “large coffee” mugs here are IKEA ones, while the smaller ones are a different brand, and actually have the branding of the cafe. The takeaway cups too have a more elaborate display of the cafe’s branding – they’ve gone to some trouble to create a themed place here, and break away from the old “Oscars” reputation.
While there’s no decaf grinder, the coffee is pleasant enough. It’s a little woody in flavour, but this gives it character. It’s served hot, but not too hot. If you’re in need of a coffee fix while supervising small children, or preparing to watch a movie, it’s a suitably convenient place.
