Movie: Colour Me KubrickBen and I took in this film at the Palace Verona. Malkovitch is the main player here, as a con-man unhappy with his own life who pretends to be (film director) Stanley Kubrick, despite not really knowing much about the work of the man, nor looking anything like him. movie: x-men: the last stand
X-Men: The Last Stand As fast moving as a comic book (and with plenty of large-scale action scenes to justify a big-screen viewing), this film jumps between violent and dramatic, with the occasional touch of humour or sadness. They could have taken it to much greater depths in a lot of spots, but overall, it’s …
movie: the da vinci code
The Da Vinci Code So much ink has been expended on the teaching content of the book, and the movie; it’s pretty clear that the sorts of things that the movie says about Jesus, and about the church is largely made up. The trouble is that there is no difference in the presentation of fact …
Movie: Mission Impossible 3
Movie: Mission Impossible 3. If you like explosions, action sequences, and a remorseless bad guy, this won’t disappoint. If you were hoping that you’d need to think a bit to follow the picture, you’ll want to see something else. Watch out for Simon Pegg – in some ways, he steals the movie.
movie: Match Point
Movie: Match Point Woody Allen put together this engaging film. If you like Woody Allen, if you don’t mind a film that moves a little slowly, and plays with its genre a little, you’ll probably enjoy it.
movie: V for Vendetta

Movie: Inside Man
Inside Man Denzel Washington, a bit part by Jodie Foster, in a heist movie with a subtle difference. A little slow in places, and much more about the plot than the characters, this is a highly watchable film for those with an above-average tolerance to on-screen swearing.
Movie: Aeon Flux
Movie: Aeon Flux Glad I only paid $8 to see this one, thanks to the cheap Monday and Tuesday tickets that are on offer at the moment. A few good sci-fi moments, surrounded by poor dialog, acting, characterization and plot. Just watch the trailer: that’s more than enough time to spend with this film.
Movie: Firewall
Movie: Firewall Harrison Ford in an action role. The computer moments are somewhat cringeworthy, but at least they’re few. Worth a look if you’re after an evening of little thinking. Delivers what it promises.
Movie: Syriana
Movie: Syriana Another Clooney film: well acted, intelligent, multilayered film highlighting the various inter-woven tragedies surroundi surrounding oil supply from the middle east into the US. Some good lines, some scenes that are not for the squeamish, and probably not a movie that mainstream audiences will enjoy.
