Corelli’s café newtown From the sydney coffee guide, and a cafe I’ve often driven or walked past: for Vittoria coffee, it’s a good cup. Not as much of a gallery as I remember, but certainly has options (untested this visit) for breakfast and lunch.

Brewhaha cafe north sydney
Brewhaha cafe north sydney Another one from the 2006 sydney coffee guide; a pleasant takeaway: lots of sunlight, and a wide choice of breakfast options. A quick converstaion with the barista, he knows his coffee, and 9bar is his pick (and the coffee that’s on offer here): roasted in locally in Brookvale. Pleasant tasting: reminds …

Don adán coffee house
Don adán coffee house Don Adan coffee. 5 Spit Rd, Mosman. A rare opportunity to watch a cafe as it opens: moments after this, the outdoor tables and menus appear. A pleasant cup of coffee at (for Mosman) a reasonable price. Website: Don Adan Coffee
Stix espresso sandwich bar nth sydney
Stix espresso bar nth sydney One of the better places in North Sydney to buy coffee; continues to churn out a good-tasting espresso, and well lifted milk. Currently being renovated, but there are some outdoor and indoor tables for those keen to stay. I generally have a skim latte here, sometimes with toast (they have …

Grind – cronulla
Grind – cronulla This is one of my favourite cafes: amazing atmosphere; excellent coffee. Its tiny size means a small menu: just biscotti, hot and cold drinks, but it’s a great place to pass the time. As the t-shirt slogan says: i’d rather be at grind. Update: they have their own blend of coffee from …
fresh cafe, katoomba st katoomba
fresh cafe, katoomba st katoomba A little more expensive than the average cafe in the mountains, but the serving sizes are more generous. A good place to recharge after a day of walking. One unusual sight here is that of in-house coffee roasting – on a small scale (compared to a Toby’s Estate or a …
Seed cafe
Seed cafe In the hunter connection – one of the arcades near wynyard station – lies this little gem. Try the breakfast crumble – the only place i’ve seen such a thing on a menu, and have a coffee: not the most amazing, technically executed cup, but at least they use a tamper! Staff are …
