Niche café wine bar Grinders coffee. Modern interior design. Something of a watering hole for suits, especially from the adjacent optus building. The coffee was freshly ground before making the shot, giving one of the better grinders coffees i’ve had.

Vispo espresso bar, north sydney
Vispo espresso bar, north sydney Near the top of the hill on walker st, at 122, vispo has both an indoor and an outdoor counter, comfortable seating for around 20 people, and the coffee is quite ok. Good range of food options, especially given its tiny floorspace. The unusual thing about the cafe is its …
Sienna café,burwood westfield
Sienna café,burwood westfield Piazza D’oro coffee. Food court coffees are generally pretty poor; I wasn’t sure what to expect from the piazza d’oro. The milk was okay, but the coffee was disappointing.
Ya habibi café, hurstville
Ya habibi café, hurstville Coffex coffee. A range of sweets and more substantial food, with a lebanese theme, are on sale here. Indoor and outdoor seating, one of the few places that’s not within sight of westfield. A pleasant coffee is to be had here, and the barista is keen for a chat. Update: they’ve …
The art lounge, coogee
The art lounge, coogee The first thing to catch my eye is an old table-top video game that doubles, unusually, as a table; respect. Cozzi café, coogee Another unfamiliar suburb; I think i’ve only been here once since my coogee friends moved to queensland. It seems that every beachside suburb has its own character. Coffee was in the same league as the other voodoo espresso cafes: it’s an above average drop, but not …

Café pacific, north sydney
Café pacific, north sydney Near the train station but on the pacific highway. Moonbasa coffee. Three staff, somewhere between indifferent and friendly. The customers are mostly suits from the office building above. As with a great many cafes in north sydney, the coffee is okay but not spectacular.
Sweet belem, petersham
Sweet belem, petersham With the sound of traffic still barely audible through the glass doors, the floorspace in this café is evenly divided. On one side tables, with awesome tiled pattern, and a cake shop window filled with a mix of traditional fare and unusual, but delicious creations. A weak, belaroma latte is brought out …
Le petit tarte, glebe
Le petit tarte, glebe Like a café in the strand arcade, with its old-world furniture, fixtures and fittings, this place feels welcoming from the point of arrival. The coffee actually tastes like coffee; there’s some strength to it, and no metallic aftertaste. In the back of the café, more pastries are created, but this time, …
