Croydon village foods cafe A friendly, comfortable atmosphere, and expertly prepared food fast. The takeaway coffee I ordered was really hot, so it was a bit hard to judge the quality. Still the best coffee experience I’ve had in Croydon.

Espresso galleria – haberfield Espresso Galleria in Haberfield is a place to get a great cup of coffee. Roasting on-site, and a barista who’s knowledgable about the Sydney coffee scene.

Pastaroma – pasta espresso bar, greenwood plaza nth sydney Pastaroma Pasta espresso bar: Aroma coffee, award winning baristas, and an easy-going atmosphere from behind the counter; again, not my favourite cafe in north sydney – and there’s nowhere to sit – but they do a really great flattened-out toast that no-one else does.

Trio deli café – nth sydney On Walker St, North sydney is this relative newcomer: awesome lentil soup is available here in winter-time. A good place to sit peacefully for a meal.

Caffé té ria – leichhardt Caffe Diemne coffee.Another pleasant cup to be had: the day was too hot to stay for long; we moved the the gelato shop next door, but the coffee here is good, and there are a range of teas to try too.

Grind – leichhardt A cafe called Grind has a lot to live up to: this one, a few doors up from legendary Norton St institution Bar Italia provides solid cafe food, and among the better of the coffees that we’ve found in the cafe guide book. When the manager – Damien – found out about …
